Fostering Sustainability in the Emerging Markets | S.1. E.39 Dr. Mumbi Wachira, Strathmore Business School

Dr. Mumbi Wachira is a sustainability expert and a leader based in Nairobi. She is a lecturer at the prestigious Strathmore Business School and holds a Ph.D. from St. Gallen University

She is a recognized expert on sustainability and integrated reporting practices in sub-Saharan Africa. In the episode, she discusses the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), being at the forefront of the Africa Chapter.

What is  PRME? It is an initiative of the UN Global Compact. Working through Six Principles, PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact

She also discusses an interesting experience with SME in Kenya, unlocking shared value on the supply chain of a leading continental financial institution!
